Guidelines for compliance with the NIH open-access mandate

The NIH Public Access Policy was designed to ensure that the public has access to all published, peer-reviewed journal articles, research reports, or research reviews funded in whole or in part by the NIH. The law requires that researchers submit their NIH funded work to the publicly accessible, full-text digital archive PubMed Central no longer than 12 months after the official date of publication.

The purpose of this page is to provide Purdue researchers with details regarding who must comply with this law, important dates of compliance, the three-step compliance process, and to provide links to other resources for more information.
